I wrote a customer service review on Hannaford's website on March 5, 2022. I haven't heard anything from them.
She was belligerent and insisted that we must load the conveyer belt fully before she began checkout. I told her my family member had been injured previously at Hannaford by being pressured to load the shopping belt faster and in a hurried pace. The manager did not seem to care and stated that this was their worker "earn time" policy. Hannaford has an awful "earn time" policy for their employees whereby cashiers are timed once they begin customer checkout.
I am shocked that customers are treated so poorly so that employees can in the words of the customer service manager, "earn time". Whatever happened to good customer service? Apparently, Hannaford is all about corporate profit and NOT about customer service. I am so done with the rudeness, bossiness, and aggression at the checkout counter from their employees and customer service manager.
They don't care about customers and are only concerned with trying to earn bonuses at the expense of customers. When the manager saw that I was upset and very concerned, she should have told me that it was okay to load the conveyor belt at a more comfortable pace instead of demanding that this high-speed rate was the policy and that I must abide by it so that she could earn "some time". Horrible customer service. Hannaford is good only as a quick stop for just a few items.
If you have a full shopping cart, be prepared to have the cashiers race your order as fast as they can while the bagger has to fill up your cart even faster. The cashier doesn't stop pushing your items down the belt and it piles up like a mountain. Some of it may drop but they don't care. As long as they earn their rewards, that's all that matters.
The customer is just part of their disgusting Hannaford employee reality game for rewards. I was a regular customer but no longer will I subject myself to this aggravation.

Preferred solution: I would like Hannaford to change their employee "earn time" and any other "earn rewards" incentives for cashiers so that customers can be treated with respect.

I have to go back later this afternoon and pick up my prescription that i was told would be ready for my pick up.
She then said, what about the other 2 prescriptions? I stated, I only received 1, my husband didn't know there were others and the attendant never said anything about other prescriptions. She told me to call Hannaford and see if they have them waiting for me. I called Hannaford and they said yes, come in about 1/2hr we will have them ready.
I went in 1.5hrs later to find out only 1 prescription was there, and the other will be in tomorrow. Then she asked someone else in the department. I stated I was supposed to have it Saturday and here it is Monday. She then said, they just came in, if I wanted to wait 15 min.
I couldn't as I had another appointment. I came back 1hr later, and she said it wasn't ready and will be ready in the afternoon. Needless to say, I was very unhappy and explained that I was told 15min and I took off for more than 1hr. She never even apologized, and the gentleman behind me said the same thing happened to him.
Also, I was trying to get a discount with my RX card, not sure if I received one. Nothing was explained to me about the drug.
I left with the 1 prescription. Very dissatisfied.

I have shopped in the Hannaford store in Belfast Maine.
At least 1/3 of people shopping there are not wearing masks. This is extremely dangerous for the people who are taking precautions.
This Omicrom variant is much more contagious than any so far.
People will be getting Covid because of your policies. Your employees, also are at risk especially since most of them are only wearing ineffective cloth masks.
I hope you will consider introducing a mask requirement for your stores.
You have no issue telling people to wear shoes and shirts, so it seems to me you could also make people wear masks.
You could remind people who dont want to comply that they are welcome to use curbside pick-up. It is not fair for those of us who care about protecting themselves and others to have to use curbside in order to avoid breathing air contaminated by the virus.
